Job Description - Lab Manager

Set staffing levels with input from employment committee.

Supervise employees:
-Scheduling
-Proper rotation of work assignment to maintain employee certifications
-Maintaining a high employee moral level

Hire new employees with input from employment committee
-Dismissal if required for cause

Assist with daily workload when required

Establish and update SOP’s

Establish and update personnel policies with input from the employment committee

Evaluate costs for existing procedures and supplies

Assist the board in determining what new services the lab might be able to provide our member and determine procedures and cost for the new services

Maintain the proper licenses and certifications to be in compliance with all current regulations

Ensure that all lab equipment is maintained in good working order

Maintain knowledge of new equipment and procedures that will help improve the efficiency of the lab

Keep the board informed about issues and trend that might effect the current or future operation of the lab

Act as a liaison between the board and various civic organizations

Other duties as assigned
